The UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI) warmly welcomed Md. Liton Ahmed, President of the U.S. Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (USBCCI), during his official visit to the UKBCCI office on September 15, 2025.
Mr. Ahmed was accompanied by Mr. Koynur Ahmed, Director of Made in Bangladesh Expo Ltd, and Mrs. Ruma Ahmed, Chairperson of the USBCCI Women Entrepreneur Committee.
The delegation was received by A Q Khalique (Jamal), Senior Vice President of UKBCCI, alongside Mr. Siddiqur Rahman Joynal, Regional President of East of England, and Ms. Rohema Miah, Director for International Trade Affairs at UKBCCI.
Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral and diaspora-led trade initiatives, encouraging entrepreneurship, and developing new platforms to showcase Bangladeshi businesses on the international stage. The exchange also emphasized the importance of uniting chambers and trade organizations across borders to better support SMEs, women entrepreneurs, and the global Bangladeshi diaspora.
In an official statement, UKBCCI described the meeting as “inspiring and encouraging”, highlighting the shared mission of both chambers to promote trade, innovation, and global collaboration. UKBCCI also expressed its strong interest in exploring future partnerships with USBCCI, including joint events, trade missions, and capacity-building programs.
The visit reaffirmed the role of diaspora leadership in promoting Bangladesh as a nation of opportunity, innovation, and resilience, while also creating new avenues of collaboration between the U.S., UK, and Bangladesh business communities.
