Ottawa, October 29, 2025 —
In a move to further strengthen Bangladesh–Canada bilateral trade and investment ties, Md. Liton Ahmed, Founder & Chairman of the Made in Bangladesh Expo™ and the Global Trade Promotion Council of Bangladesh (GTPCB), met with H.E. Kazi Russel Pervez, Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Canada, and Mr. Shakhaowat Hossain, First Secretary (Commercial), at the Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa.

The discussion focused on the upcoming Made in Bangladesh Expo™ – Canada Edition 2026, which will take place from September 18–20, 2026, at the Mississauga Convention Centre in Ontario. During the meeting, Mr. Ahmed proposed the Expo’s inclusion in the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB)’s Official Fair Calendar 2026 and invited the Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa to serve as an Official Partner or Patron Organization.
The Made in Bangladesh Expo™ – Canada Edition 2026 is envisioned as a dynamic global platform to showcase Bangladesh’s products, services, and innovations to the North American market. The exhibition will highlight key export-oriented sectors including RMG and textiles, leather, ICT, agro-processing, jute, light engineering, and handicrafts, while also enabling B2B networking between Bangladeshi exporters, Canadian buyers, and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora.
H.E. Kazi Russel Pervez welcomed the initiative, reaffirming the High Commission’s commitment to supporting trade and investment programs that contribute to expanding Bangladesh’s global export presence. Mr. Shakhaowat Hossain also conveyed optimism about continued collaboration with GTPCB and effective coordination with EPB and other relevant ministries.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to advancing Bangladesh–Canada trade relations, strengthening diaspora-driven investment, and promoting Brand Bangladesh on the international stage.
