From Immigrant to Influencer: My Journey to Building Global Business Bridges

When I first arrived in the United States, I carried little more than a suitcase full of hope and a heart full of ambition. Like many immigrants, I dreamed of building a better life—not just for myself, but for my family, my community, and the country I still proudly call home: Bangladesh.

What I didn’t know then was that my journey would evolve far beyond personal success. I would become a bridge—between nations, between businesses, and between people. This is the story of that transformation—from immigrant to influencer.

The Early Days: A Dream in a New Land

I stepped into New York with no connections, limited resources, and a deep desire to succeed. The early days were filled with struggle—working long hours, adapting to a new culture, and trying to find my place in a world that moved faster than I had ever experienced. But adversity became my teacher. I learned the value of resilience, adaptability, and vision.

I knew I didn’t just want a job. I wanted to build something—something that mattered.

The Spark of Entrepreneurship

My first steps into business weren’t glamorous. I started small—offering community support, building relationships, listening to people’s needs. I noticed one thing consistently: immigrant entrepreneurs had the talent, the ambition, and the work ethic—but not always the access. Access to opportunity. Access to capital. Access to networks.

That’s when I made it my mission to become the connector they needed.

I launched USBD Group LLC—a business designed to open doors and support the success of small and diaspora-owned businesses. From there, I expanded into digital services through USBD Software & Technology Ltd, offering everything from web development to smart business tools.

Recognizing the growing need for access to global opportunities, I later established Global Visa & Immigration Services Inc., helping individuals and families navigate business-based immigration pathways like the EB-3 and EB-5 visa programs. I also founded Global Diaspora Venture Capital Ltd., a platform that connects diaspora investors with high-potential ventures in real estate, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship across borders.

To promote Bangladeshi exports globally, I launched TheMadeInBangladesh.com, a digital marketplace empowering local manufacturers to reach verified international buyers. Through the Global Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI), I continue to foster international collaboration, policy engagement, and economic development across multiple continents.

Each of these ventures reflects one mission: to build bridges—between nations, communities, and opportunity.

Influence with Purpose

Today, I am honored to be seen as an influencer—not for social media likes, but for real-life impact. I’ve been blessed to:

  • Receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award (2022) for 4,000+ hours of civic contribution
  • Support hundreds of Bangladeshi businesses in entering global markets
  • Build trusted relationships with U.S. chambers, embassies, policy makers, and community organizations
  • Mentor the next generation of entrepreneurs, both in the U.S. and Bangladesh

But my greatest achievement? Knowing I’ve helped others believe in themselves. Especially those who were told they couldn’t make it.

Lessons from the Journey

Here’s what I’ve learned on this journey:

  1. Never underestimate the power of your roots. Your story is your strength.
  2. Build bridges, not walls. Business is about connection, not competition.
  3. Purpose fuels perseverance. Profit will come, but impact lasts forever.
  4. Give back. Always. Service to others is the rent we pay for success.

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning. I’m working on global diaspora investment platforms, launching new ventures in technology, and continuing to advocate for immigrant entrepreneurs and international collaboration.

My mission is clear: to empower people across borders to build, connect, and lead.

Because if my journey proves anything, it’s this—you don’t have to be born into influence to make a difference. You just have to be bold enough to build it.
